Maui Police Investigate Mummified Body

HONOLULU -- Maui police are investigating a body found in Kahikinui.A helicopter retrieved the decomposed body of a woman on Tuesday morning from a remote area near the ocean, after a hunter discovered the remains late Monday afternoon, according to the Maui News.The Maui Medical Examiner's Office said the body had been there for some time and that it was mummified.
They do not believe foul play was involved, but they have no cause of death.The medical examiner tentatively identified her as a 58-year-old visitor from the mainland.
